Exploring Provence, France-Arles Arles de Provence is another walled city in the region of Provence, France. The Roman Empire occupied France & built walls around several cities, & erected Coliseums similar to that found in Rome. Arles is one such place. Arles was also visited by Vincent nan Gough, & has a van Gough museum, a reason we visited. We bused in from St. Remy for the day. Unfortunately the van Gough museum was having a donor party & was closed to the public that day.
